Kisiwa on the beach
Exceptional staff, lovely hotel, great value
Listen to me all of you Trip Advisor devotees- you do not want to pass up the opportunity to stay at Kisiwa On The Beach. I can’t possible say enough positive things about my stay there. I stopped in Zanzibar after a work trip to Kenya. As a solo female traveler I was a little bit apprehensive about visiting a new country alone, but the staff at Kisiwa on the Beach were exceptionally communicative and clear during our pre- trip conversations I knew that I would be in good hands. Abdi picked me up from the airport and doubled as a tour guide as he drove me to the hotel- about 45 minutes from the airport. Several staff members received me at reception and were so warm and welcoming; truly, I could have cried. They set the tone for the next two days. EVERYONE was so cheerful and kind and helpful. A special shout out to Stephano and Simba who steered me right with food choices every single time and were just lovely humans
. I feel well equipped to speak to every aspect of Kisiwa on the Beach because I did it all!! I stayed in a villa, and it was perfect- very comfortable and clean. Housekeeping came by twice a day and made sure the room was always tidy. The beach is gorgeous with kite surfing right next door. The spa is lovely, and my 60 minute deep tissue massage was amazing. The food was out of this world- so good! Tina carpaccio, grilled seafood and chicken satay….delicious! The highlight however was the Sunday night Swahili dinner. So so beautiful and special. What else- oh! The pool is awesome- large enough to swim laps- bring your goggles and the gym very well equipped with weights and a well performing treadmill.
I decided on this hotel because of the 5 star trip advisor reviews and I’m here to tell you that the reviews are all accurate. You’ll be so glad you stayed here. Such a phenomenal hotel with beautiful people.

Exceptional service!
Great place! The service is exceptional. Our room was very spacious with full mosquito nets which they pulled down as part of the 'turning your bed down' service @ night. A big, stand-alone bath (which my friend made full use of!), a full range of toiletries. Complimentary tea/coffee (buttery cookies 🍪, yum yum!) The staff can not do enough for you & within the first 5mins of arriving they know your names! Breakfast runs until 10 am! (Although we finished much earlier than that in order to explore) & juice/tea or coffee, selection of breads/pastries and cooked breakfast and pancakes (if you can manage them!). We ate dinner in the restaurant @ night (which wasn't included) but very reasonable and you order earlier in the day so they can buy fresh from the market, less than 10mins away. On the rooftop which was lovely. Really can't recommend this place enough. Such friendly, personalized service.

Kisiwa on the Beach
Perfect honeymoon in Paje!
We had a great stay at this hotel on our honeymoon.
Despite our late arrival, the kitchen and all the staff waited for us to arrive so we could try the swahili buffet.
The breakfast is quite complete and of superior quality. Fresh fruits, selected eggs made at the moment, pancakes and other dishes are also available in the menu.
The rest of the days the dinner was a la carte. Delicious and exquisite dishes were served with generous quantity.
The staff is extremely friendly and always seek to satisfy all our needs. As we were celebrating our honeymoon took care to decorate the room romantically.
The room has all the amenities and is quite comfortable to enjoy a few days of rest.
The surroundings of the hotel are very well ⁇ ined and the beach area is one of the best of Paje and Jambiani.
The downside is we just decided to stay in this hotel only 3 nights ☺️

Lovely hotel in the centre of Stone Town
Lovely hotel center of Stone Town. Very friendly staff. Excellent a/c room. Nice evening meal on the terrace.
Well-restored building with interesting features.
I would definitely return to this place, right in the heart of a bustling Stonetown
